Blickachsen 11 Expands Across Rhine-Main Region for 20th Anniversary

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

Blickachsen, the sculpture biennial founded in 1997 by Christian K. Scheffel, returns for its eleventh edition from May 21 to October 1, 2017. For its 20th anniversary, the event expands beyond Bad Homburg's Kurpark—a 44-hectare spa park designed by Peter Joseph Lenné between 1854 and 1867—to seven additional sites across the Rhine-Main region, including Frankfurt. Approximately 80 works by 37 international artists will be installed. The edition features a focus on Austria, with works by Fritz Wotruba and Erwin Wurm, in partnership with the Museum Liaunig in Carinthia. The biennial is organized by the Blickachsen Foundation in collaboration with the city of Bad Homburg.
