Blackboard project reactivates historic Bergamo space with art, sound, and politics

Francesca Ceccherini and Lab 80 film have launched the Blackboard project, which revitalizes the Sala dell'Orologio at the CULT! hub located in Palazzo della Libertà, Bergamo. The concept of "blackboard," derived from Jean-Luc Godard and Jean-Pierre Gorin, symbolizes an educational resource for underrepresented communities. Spanning from late 2025 to 2026, the initiative includes four events. The first, titled Some Strings, is scheduled for November 15, 2025, at 9 PM, followed by Pedro Reyes' Disarm in early 2026. Some Strings, influenced by poet Refaat Alareer, showcases short films from 100 artists centered on Palestinian liberation, accompanied by discussions with various scholars and artists. Renovations at Palazzo della Libertà aim to foster change and reflection through Blackboard.
