Black Mirror at Ludwig Múzeum: Trauma and Technology in Budapest
The Ludwig Múzeum, located in Budapest and recognized as the first contemporary art institution established outside the Iron Curtain, is currently hosting two exhibitions: 'BIG BANG. Expanding Collection Horizons' and 'Black Mirror. The Long Shadow of the Future'. Founded in 1989 through a donation from Peter and Irene Ludwig, it officially opened in 1991 and relocated to Müpa in 2005. Its permanent collection includes 70 masterpieces and 95 long-term loans, featuring artists such as Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso. Curated by Borbála Kálmán and József Készman, 'Black Mirror' presents around 90 works that delve into digital immateriality, with notable pieces like Katalin Kortmann-Járay's 'Backland' and Tibor Szalai's 'Konstruktivizmus'. This exhibition is available from April 8 to October 18, 2026.
