BKV Fine Art Opens in Historic Milan Palazzo

A new gallery, BKV Fine Art, opens in a historic early 20th-century palazzo near Rotonda della Besana in Milan's Cinque Giornate district. Founded by dealers and collectors Paolo Bonacina, Edoardo Koelliker, and Massimo Vecchia, the space spans three floors totaling 300 square meters, including a basement library carved from a 17th-century pharmacy and an 1800s English billiard table with red cloth. The inaugural exhibition on March 21, 2024 (opening 5-9 PM) juxtaposes works from Roman archaeology to post-war Italian art, Baroque painting, and monographic shows on 20th-century masters, in collaboration with archives and foundations. Highlights include a portrait by Flemish painter Antoon van Dyck, a rare Lucio Fontana piece made with Egidio Costantini, Peter Halley's 2000 work "Nightvision," and a Baroque masterpiece by Niccolò Tornioli ("Convito di Assalonne"). The gallery also offers art advisory services, including collection management, research, appraisals, and collaborations with public and private institutions.
