publication · 2026-04-27

On September 30, 2022, Björk is set to unveil her tenth studio album, titled Fossora, through One Little Independent Records, marking five years since her last release, Utopia. This album comprises 13 tracks and includes collaborations with Indonesian DJ Kasimyn, Norwegian artist Emilie Nicolas, Serpentwithfeet, and her children, Sindri Eldon and Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney. The term Fossora translates to 'digger.' Three singles have already been launched: Atopos (September 6), Ovule (September 14), and Ancestress (September 22), each accompanied by music videos. Atopos showcases Björk in designs by Burberry and Vanessa Bon, while Ovule presents her as an alien avatar, styled by Alessandro Michele. Ancestress, directed by Andrew Thomas Huang, is a homage to her mother, Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir, featuring Sindri.
