Björk designs furniture line with Klaus Haapaniemi

Björk has ventured into furniture design, collaborating with Finnish brand Klaus Haapaniemi to create a line of home furnishings for her seaside cottage in northern Iceland. The collection stems from a fabric named Black Lake, after one of her songs, inspired by Icelandic lava flows. The textile, featuring a black lake populated by strange creatures, was used for a hand-carved sofa, tapestries, and circular rugs. Before reaching Björk's home, the pieces were exhibited for a month at Lokal gallery in Helsinki. The brand has also produced scarves, bags, and wallpaper for sale online and at its London store. Klaus Haapaniemi, based in London, is known for designs influenced by nature, Scandinavian folklore, and cultural references. Björk chose the brand for its responsible use of resources, though the handcrafted textiles are expensive.
