BJCEM Returns to Turin with Weekend d'Arte After 25 Years
After a 25-year hiatus, the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM) returns to Turin with a Weekend d'Arte on November 26–27, 2022. The event features three activities across Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and Polo del '900, focusing on environmental awareness through multidisciplinary artistic practices. It includes an international study day titled 'Uncivilised Paradigms' as part of the DE.a.RE project, the exhibition 'Every food is a landscape' under the Food Wave initiative, and a participatory conference. The exhibition, curated by Marco Trulli, presents works by 16 young artists from Euro-Mediterranean cities. The weekend concludes with a call for artists and designers coordinated by ActionAid Italia and IED. BJCEM, founded in 1985 in Barcelona, has held editions in multiple cities including Sarajevo (2001) and San Marino (2021). Its association, based in Brussels with an executive office in Turin, comprises 45 members from 15 countries.
