BitCoins Love: All-Female Art Show in a Milan Karaoke Bar

exhibition · 2026-05-05

A one-night-only exhibition titled BitCoins Love took place on December 20, 2016, in a karaoke room on Via Signorelli 2 in Milan's Sarpi district. Curated by Placentia Arte in collaboration with the #girlsinmuseum collective, the show featured works and performances by Italian artists Mara Oscar Cassiani, Elisa Giardina Papa, and Kamilia Kard, alongside international contributors Cybertwee, Faith Holland, Tavi Lee, Helin Sahin, Miyö Van Stenis, and Szonja Szendi in the foyer. The project originated from online chats among the artists, who explored themes of body, intimacy, gender construction, and emotional storytelling in relation to technological and digital capitalism. Videos were uploaded to karaoke screens just before the opening, interrupted by song lyrics. The event emphasized open, in-progress, and interconnected works, blending performance with the unconventional venue.
