Biren Technology Projects Up to 22-Fold Revenue Surge Amid China's AI Chip Boom

Biren Technology, a Chinese AI chip manufacturer, anticipates a staggering revenue increase for the first half of 2026, projecting a rise of as much as 2,107 percent year-on-year. Based in Shanghai and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since January, the GPU producer expects revenues to fall between 1.15 billion yuan (approximately US$170.5 million) and 1.3 billion yuan. This anticipated growth is driven by a rapid commercialization process and robust demand for general-purpose GPUs utilized in AI applications, such as coding and agent software. The company also forecasts a reduced net loss of 320 million to 400 million yuan, a significant improvement from the 1.6 billion yuan loss recorded in the same timeframe in 2025. Biren's outlook aligns with domestic competitors Hygon Information Technology and Cambricon Technologies, who are also experiencing rising demand for locally produced chips, reflecting China's ambition for self-reliance in the high-tech industry.
