Birdhead Collective Presents Talk and Performance in Singapore with ShanghART and ArtReview Asia

On the afternoon of the event hosted by ArtReview Asia and ShanghART Singapore, the Shanghai-based artist duo Birdhead, consisting of SONG Tao and JI Weiyu, engaged the audience with a talk and performance. This event was part of their exhibition, Welcome to Birdhead World Again – Singapore 2016, which continued until 26 February. The exhibition was the first in a residency program for Southeast Asia, backed by ShanghART, the National Arts Council, and Singapore's Economic Development Board. Birdhead's residency began in July 2016, encompassing travels through Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Singapore. An artist talk, Welcome Southeast Asia to Birdhead World, occurred from 3 to 4:30 PM at 6 Lock Road, #02-09, Gillman Barracks, featuring discussions with Robert Zhao Renhui, Biljana Ciric, and Hallam Chow. A performance, Birdhead x Papacurry, followed from 5 to 8 PM at ShanghART, 9 Lock Road, #02-22, Gillman Barracks, showcasing chef Chayuti Janrakangtong (Papacurry) from Chiang Mai, and concluded with a signing session offering free commemorative prints.
