Biografilm Festival 16th Edition Goes Online with 43 Films from 26 Countries

The 16th edition of the Biografilm Festival, dedicated to biographies and documentaries, will take place online from June 5 to 15 on the MyMovies.it platform, free of charge. The festival features 43 films from 26 countries, with 33% being debut works and 45% directed by women. Director Leena Pasanen emphasized the focus on emerging talents and female filmmakers. New this year is the Meet the Masters section, highlighting three films: I Walk by Jørgen Leth, Irradiated (Irradiés) by Rithy Panh, and Master Cheng (Mestari Cheng) by Mika Kaurismäki, each followed by an interview with the director. The festival includes five competition sections: International Competition, Biografilm Italia, Biografilm Art & Music, Contemporary Lives, and special screenings. Notable films include The Earth is Blue as an Orange by Iryna Tsilyk, Kubrick by Kubrick by Gregory Monro, and My Rembrandt by Oeke Hoogendijk.
