Billy Connolly's Big Wee Exhibition to Open at Kelvingrove in 2027

Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum will host 'Billy Connolly's Big Wee Exhibition' from June 2027, as announced by the comedian himself via Instagram. The exhibition will explore Connolly's life, comedy, and clothing, held at a venue he describes as 'very dear to my heart.' Earlier this year, Connolly recorded a special audio guide for the museum, sharing personal memories of 12 items in the collection. The museum has not yet revealed full details, but a Glasgow Life spokesperson expressed excitement about celebrating the 'Scottish national treasure' in the city's own 'treasure trove.' In March, museum curator Jane Rowlands explained that Connolly was the obvious choice for the audio guide, as they sought personal memories rather than factual information. Connolly, knighted in 2017 for services to entertainment and charity, first visited Kelvingrove as a child. The exhibition announcement follows a weekend of events in Glasgow celebrating the comedian in August 2025, and the recent awarding of the Billy Connolly Glasgow comedy award to Amanda Dwyer.
