Bilingual Anthology Reassesses Polish Conceptual Art's Global Place
In 2000, "Refleksja konceptualna w sztuce polskiej. Doswiadczenia dyskursu: 1965-1975 / Conceptual Reflection in Polish Art: Experiences of Discourse: 1965-1975," edited by Pawel Polit and Piotr Wozniakiewicz, was released by Centrum Sztuki Wspólczesnej Zamek Ujazdowski in Warsaw. This bilingual work provides a comprehensive examination of Polish conceptual art from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, including essays by Alicja Kepinska, Andrzej Kostolowski, and Pawel Polit, as well as interviews with Andrzej Turowski and Jerzy Ludwinski. The publication emerged after two exhibitions in 1999 at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and aligned with the "Global Conceptualism" exhibition at Queens Museum. It features a simple design with monochrome illustrations.
