Bigflo et Oli film music video before monumental Picasso at Les Abattoirs

French rap duo Bigflo et Oli released a live session for their song "Picasso" from the album Karma (March 13, 2025), filmed in front of Pablo Picasso's 1936 stage curtain "La Dépouille du Minotaure en costume d'Arlequin" at Les Abattoirs museum in Toulouse. The 13-meter-long work was created for Romain Rolland's play "Le Quatorze Juillet." Directed by Antoine Zago-Honnorat, the video features nine musicians playing Latin-inspired sounds. The choice of venue is personal: Oli co-curated the 2024–2025 exhibition "Le Musée imaginaire d'Oli" at Les Abattoirs with director Lauriane Gricourt, which attracted over 100,000 visitors. The video aims to bridge high art and popular culture, but sparked online criticism for invoking Picasso without addressing his history of violence against women. The duo acknowledged the controversy, with Oli stating "Yes, Picasso is problematic," and admitted hesitating to include the song on the album due to its contrasting upbeat tone.
