Biennial Circuit’s Most Prolific Artists Revealed in Four-Year Survey

An analysis of 130 recurring global art events from 2022 to 2026 identified the artists with the most biennial appearances. Nolan Oswald Dennis leads with 14 shows, including the 2026 Venice Biennale. Other top artists include Kapwani Kiwanga, Jumana Manna, Christian Nyampeta, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Sammy Baloji, Tabita Rezaire, Seba Calfuqueo, Ali Eyal, Saodat Ismailova, Tuan Andrew Nguyen, Kader Attia, Torkwase Dyson, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Sky Hopinka, Tarek Atoui, Raven Chacon, Carolina Caycedo, Monira Al Qadiri, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and Kiluanji Kia Henda. The survey covers over 15,000 artists, with a steep drop-off after the top tier. The list includes major biennials like Venice, São Paulo, and Sharjah, as well as smaller events. The analysis aims to provide a cross-section of global curatorial trends.
