Biennale of Sydney Reveals Expanded Artist Roster for 2024 Edition
The upcoming 24th Biennale of Sydney, called Ten Thousand Suns, is scheduled from March 9 to June 10, 2024. This year's event features a diverse lineup of 88 artists and collectives from 47 countries, including notable figures from the Middle East and Arab region like Hayv Kahraman, Monira Al Qadiri, and Özgür Kar. It will take place across various locations in Sydney, such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, and White Bay Power Station. Directed by Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero, the biennale will explore themes like celebration as resistance and tackle issues such as the climate crisis, alongside a public program filled with music, dance, and workshops.
