Biennale of Sydney 2024: Ten Thousand Suns Unveils Artists and Venues

The 24th Biennale of Sydney, named Ten Thousand Suns, will take place from 9 March to 10 June 2024, and admission is free for everyone. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the event showcases 88 artists and collectives hailing from 47 different nations. This edition, directed by Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero, delves into themes of hope, resistance, and celebration, moving beyond apocalyptic stories. Participating venues include the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Artspace, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, among others. Featured artists consist of Andrew Thomas Huang, Tracey Moffatt, and Juan Davila, while the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain has commissioned 14 First Nations artists, collaborating with Tony Albert. The opening concert, Lights On, will occur on 8 March 2024, featuring Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul, alongside various free public activities.
