Biennale di Venezia launches Summer School with V&A and Vienna University

The Biennale di Venezia has announced its first Summer School, running from July 9 to 17, 2016, during the 15th International Architecture Exhibition. The program, titled 'Cognitive Adventures in the Digital Age: The Future of Creation and Preservation,' is organized in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. It will host a maximum of 35 participants at the Arsenale, offering seminars, physical and digital experiments, and access to Biennale exhibitions and archives. Faculty includes artists Ruth Schnell, Adam Lowe, and Peter Weibel (also curator at the University of Applied Arts Vienna), along with scholars Guido Beltramini (director of CISA Palladio Center), Anna Anguissola (Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa), Robert Bevan (writer and journalist), Sam Jacob (architect and founder of FAT Architecture), and Baerbel Müller (architect and professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna). Topics range from robotics and quantum mechanics in cultural production to preservation using new technologies. Applications close May 30, 2016.
