Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement Returns with 15th Edition in Geneva

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The 15th Biennale de l'Image en Mouvement, directed by Andrea Bellini, kicks off in Geneva, showcasing a blend of art exhibition, film festival, production house, and performance festival. Established in 1984, this year’s event presents 27 new pieces, with more than 70% of the participating artists being women. Since taking the helm in 2012, Bellini has prioritized the commissioning of original works. Artists are encouraged to contribute a non-commercial copy to the FMAC. Co-curators include Caroline Bourgeois, Cecilia Alemani, and Elvira Dyangani Ose, with featured artists like Bertille Bak and Phoebe Boswell. The event introduces 'Generations,' a competition offering a prize of 10,000 Swiss francs, alongside productions such as 'Spira Mirabilis,' which received the Green Drop Award. The 2016 edition will tour multiple locations.
