Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement Explores Post-Screen Moving Images with 20 New Commissions
The 2019 Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement is happening in Geneva from November 8 to February 3, organized by curators Andrea Bellini and Andrea Lissoni. This year's theme is The Sound of Screens Imploding and features twenty brand-new commissioned works at venues like the Centre d’Art Contemporain and Cinema Spoutnik. Kahlil Joseph showcases BLKNWS (2018), a unique take on news reporting, while Andreas Angelidakis explores post-crisis Greek capitalism with Demos Bar. Meriem Bennani imagines a vibrant future city in Party on the CAPS. Ian Cheng's Emissaries Guide to Worlding is offered as an e-book, and Korakrit Arunanondchai's piece includes footage from the 2018 Thai cave rescue. Elysia Crampton's Orcorara draws inspiration from Quechua mythology.
