festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The Biennale di Venezia has opened applications for Biennale College Danza 2021, now under the direction of British choreographer Wayne McGregor. From January 19 to February 19, dancers and choreographers under 30 can apply for two study and production tracks running from May 10 to July 31 in Venice. Twenty dancers and five dancer-choreographers will be selected. The program culminates in the 15th Festival Internazionale di Danza Contemporanea, featuring works by McGregor and Crystal Pite, a new commission for the College group, and five original short choreographies by the selected choreographers. The first ten days focus on McGregor's Physical Thinking method to build collaborative skills. The College has gained prominence as a program spanning all Biennale sections, not just performing arts.
