Biennale College Cinema opens International and Immersive calls for 2026-2027

festival-fair · 2026-03-21

The Biennale di Venezia has opened two application periods for its Biennale College Cinema initiative, aimed at the 2026-2027 seasons, running from May 12 to July 6, 2026. The 15th edition of the International track seeks budding filmmakers to create micro-budget feature films for the Venice Film Festival. Each team must consist of first- or second-time directors paired with seasoned producers. From October 6 to 15, 2026, nine projects will be chosen for a workshop, along with three from the Italian track. The 83rd Venice Film Festival, scheduled for September 2-12, 2026, will unveil twelve selected projects. The Immersive track, now in its 11th edition, will choose 12 projects, each limited to 30 minutes and a budget of €75,000, for the 2027 festival.
