Biennale Arte 2026 opens with 10% visitor increase on opening day
The 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, titled "In Minor Keys" and curated by Koyo Kouoh, opened to the public on May 9, 2026, attracting approximately 10,000 visitors across the Giardini and Arsenale venues by 6 PM (with the Arsenale closing at 8 PM). This marks a 10% increase compared to the opening day of the 2024 Biennale Arte. The four-day pre-opening period (May 5–8) saw 27,935 accredited attendees, up 4% from 2024.
