Biennale Arte 2022: International Jury Announced for Venice Awards

The Board of Directors of the Venice Biennale, on the recommendation of curator Cecilia Alemani, has appointed the international jury that will award the Golden Lions at the 59th International Art Exhibition, titled "Il latte dei sogni" (The Milk of Dreams), running from April 23 to November 27, 2022. The jury is chaired by Adrienne Edwards, Engell Speyer Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Whitney Museum of American Art and co-curator of the 2022 Whitney Biennial. Other members include Lorenzo Giusti, director of GAMeC in Bergamo and president of AMACI; Julieta González, artistic director of Instituto Inhotim in Brazil; Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, founder and artistic director of SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin and artistic director of sonsbeek 20–24; and Susanne Pfeffer, director of MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt. The jury will award the Golden Lion for Best National Participation, the Golden Lion for the best participant in the International Exhibition, the Silver Lion for a promising young participant, and up to three special mentions. The award ceremony and opening will take place on April 23, 2022, at Ca' Giustinian, the Biennale's headquarters.
