Biennale Architettura 2016 chiude con 260mila visitatori
The 15th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale wrapped up on November 26, 2016, attracting a record 259,725 visitors, which is a 14% increase from the 228,000 in 2014. There were 14,180 participants, marking a 16% rise compared to two years prior, and notably, 45% of attendees were under 26. Alejandro Aravena, the director, and Paolo Baratta, the president, shared their thoughts at the Teatro alle Tese after the “Conflicts” panel featuring Milinda Pathiraja, Jaeuun-Choi, Manuel Herz, and Robert Jan van Pelt. Aravena highlighted architecture's impact on civil society, while Baratta emphasized the Biennale's focus on the general public. Until December 31, the Italian Pavilion “Taking Care” is raising funds through the crowdfunding initiative launched by TAMassociati.
