Bi Gan's 'Resurrection' Explores Dreamless World in Third Feature
Chinese director Bi Gan's third feature film 'Resurrection' (2025) presents a world where humans have lost the ability to dream, until a woman discovers a monster-like being that can still experience dreams. She enters his mind to uncover truths about her country, humanity, and herself, blurring reality and the dreamlike. The film runs 160 minutes and stars Jackson Yee, Shu Qi, and Mark Chao, with cinematography by Dong Jinsong. Produced by Dangmai Films, Huace Pictures, CG Cinema, and Arte Francia Cinema, it is a China-France co-production distributed by Madfer Films and Filmin.
