Bettina Pousttchi and Clare Woods at Buchmann Box
Buchmann Box in Berlin presents 'Variations on Subject and Object', featuring recent works by Bettina Pousttchi and Clare Woods. Pousttchi's new red sculpture from the Vertical Highways series is constructed from guardrails, which she bends, presses, and paints to transform them into vertical compositions. For years, she has used objects that structure urban space, stripping them of their regulatory function and original meaning. The work references Minimal Art and Marcel Duchamp's readymades. Alongside the red-lacquered sculpture, handcrafted ceramics are displayed.
