Berthe Morisot Exhibition at Palazzo Ducale, Genoa

Palazzo Ducale in Genoa hosts 'Impression, Morisot,' a major exhibition dedicated to Impressionist painter Berthe Morisot (1841–1895), running parallel to a larger show in Turin. The exhibition features 80 works including paintings, etchings, watercolors, and pastels, along with photographic and archival documents, covering Morisot's entire career. It highlights her two stays in the Ligurian Riviera during the winters of 1881–1882 and 1888–1889, which influenced her palette and brushwork. Morisot, a key Impressionist who participated in all group exhibitions except 1879, focused on domestic scenes, childhood, and female figures. The show aims to counter clichés about 'feminine painting' and includes works like 'Le Berceau' (1872), 'Sotto l'arancio' (1889), 'La favola' (1883), and 'Giovane donna che si rimette un pattino' (1890). The exhibition is part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Impressionism.
