Bernardo Mosqueira Appointed First Chief Curator of ISLAA in New York While Leading Solar dos Abacaxis in Rio
Bernardo Mosqueira has been named the first chief curator of the Institute for Studies on Latin American Art (ISLAA) in New York, while he continues his role as artistic director at Solar dos Abacaxis in Rio de Janeiro. Established in 2015, Solar dos Abacaxis has recently relocated to a new site on Rua do Senado. Its first exhibition, "Vida Transbordante e os Desejos do Mundo," concluded on November 4. A new exhibition showcasing resident artists is set to launch on November 18. Additionally, an open call for "Corações à Desmedida," in tribute to Rochelle Costi, is available from October 30 to November 6. Mosqueira also serves on the Curatorial Committee for the ArtRio Foco Award, overseeing ISLAA’s collection and exhibitions.
