Bernard Dufour: Artpress Interviews Collection Published
A new publication titled 'Les grands entretiens d’artpress. Bernard Dufour' compiles interviews with the French painter, who was initially championed by dealer Pierre Loeb and represented France at the Venice Biennale. Dufour endured years of isolation for pioneering a challenge to abstraction and exploring new figuration. The book features interviews by Jacques Henric and Catherine Millet, with a preface by Laurent Perez, covering his work from life models, photography, and writing. Dufour maintained close ties with literary figures such as André Breton, André Pieyre de Mandiargues, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Denis Roche, Pierre Guyotat, and Jacques Henric, and was supported by dealers Pierre and Marianne Nahon. A permanent room is now dedicated to his work at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, as a younger generation of painters, critics, and curators reassesses his legacy.
