Bernadette Corporation's The Complete Poem at Greene Naftali

From September 17 to October 17, 2009, Greene Naftali hosted The Complete Poem, an exhibition by Bernadette Corporation, a New York-based artist collective active since the mid-1990s. This showcase intertwined poetry with commercial fashion photography, presenting a flowing poem on elevated tables alongside a photo shoot radiating a relaxed vibe. Co-founded by John Kelsey and Emily Sundblad under the pseudonym Reena Spaulings, the collective's projects encompass fashion lines, films like Get rid of yourself, a magazine titled Made in USA, and a novel named Reena Spaulings. The exhibition featured approximately thirty images that referenced a Levi's campaign, substituting the logo with a void, while the "complete poem," A Billion and Change, blended diverse literary styles, and a red banner at the entrance alluded to the collective's communist roots.
