Berlinische Galerie presents Eduardo Paolozzi retrospective 'Lots of Pictures – Lots of Fun'

exhibition · 2026-04-20

From 9 February to 28 May, the Berlinische Galerie will present 'Lots of Pictures – Lots of Fun,' a significant exhibition dedicated to British artist Eduardo Paolozzi. This retrospective is divided into four sections that showcase his artistic evolution from the 1940s to the 1970s. Born in 1924 in Edinburgh to Italian immigrant parents, Paolozzi experienced civilian internment and worked in a tea warehouse prior to attending the Slade School of Art. He also spent two years in Paris and taught at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. A prominent member of the Independent Group, he curated the ICA's 'Parallel of Life and Art' exhibition. His acclaimed works include sculptures, collages, textiles, and fountains. In 1953, he was awarded the Critics' Prize, and ArtReview will reissue a profile by Toni del Renzio from that year.
