Berlinale 2020: Golden Bear to 'There Is No Evil', Elio Germano Wins Best Actor

The 70th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) awarded its Golden Bear to Mohammad Rasoulof's 'There Is No Evil', a film about capital punishment shot clandestinely in Iran without authorization. Elio Germano won the Silver Bear for Best Actor for his portrayal of Italian painter Antonio Ligabue in Giorgio Diritti's 'Volevo nascondermi' (Hidden Away). The Silver Bear for Best Actress went to Paula Beer for Christian Petzold's 'Undine', a modern retelling of the water spirit myth. The Silver Bear for Best Screenplay was awarded to Damiano and Fabio D'Innocenzo for 'Favolacce' (Bad Tales), their second feature. The D'Innocenzo brothers also won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for 'Bad Tales'.
