Berlin's Strawberry-Shaped Kiosks Become Art Spaces
During Berlin Art Week 2022, the Musée de la Fraise transformed twelve strawberry-shaped kiosks across Berlin into temporary exhibition spaces. Each kiosk hosts a work by a different female artist. The project addresses themes of feminism, gender, politics, and climate change, using the strawberry as a symbol of female desire and the male gaze. Participating artists include Shannon Bool & Matt Morris, Annette Frick, Käthe Kruse, Shana Moulton, Christl Mudrak, Alex Müller, Laure Prouvost, Sabine Reinfeld (with Philipp Reinfeld), STATIONS invited by Thea Djordjadze, Aslı Sungu, Claudia Wieser, and Vicky Wright. The museum aims to offer a matriarchal perspective, subverting traditional narratives. An interactive map on the project website guides visitors on a strawberry-themed tour. The exhibition runs until September 25, 2022.
