architecture-design · 2026-04-26

The new GAMeC contemporary art museum in Bergamo will include a public square, Piazza Tiraboschi, as part of an urban regeneration project. The museum, designed by C+S Architects (Maria Alessandra Segantini and Carlo Cappai), involves retrofitting a 1960s sports hall. The square, approved by the city council, will share white stone cladding with the museum. Funded with €2 million, construction starts autumn 2025, completing by end 2026. The square features an oval seating area, inaccessible garden for biodiversity, and integrates into the city's park system.
