Benozzo Gozzoli Exhibition at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence

From December 16, 2021, until March 15, 2022, the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence presents the exhibition 'Benozzo Gozzoli e la Cappella dei Magi,' curated by Serena Nocentini and Valentina Zucchi. This showcase focuses on the renowned Renaissance artist Benozzo Gozzoli and his frescoes in the Magi Chapel, which were commissioned by the Medici family in the late 1450s. Notable pieces include 'Madonna del Baldacchino con angeli' from the National Gallery in London and 'Matrimonio mistico di Santa Caterina da Siena' from Museo di San Marco. Multimedia elements enhance the experience, revealing Gozzoli's connections to the Medici through historical documents. Gozzoli, originally from San Colombano, relocated to Florence in 1427 and contributed to the Magi Chapel under Piero de' Medici's commission.
