Benoît Jallon Leads Provisional Ranking for MAXXI Expansion Competition
The provisional results of the GRANDE MAXXI competition, designed to enhance the MAXXI museum in Rome, have been revealed. Leading the rankings is a team headed by French architect Benoît Jallon. Initiated in February 2022, the competition attracted 103 submissions and aims to develop MAXXI HUB and MAXXI GREEN. The jury, under the leadership of Giovanna Melandri, commended Jallon's design for its integration into the urban landscape, its accessible hanging garden, and its focus on sustainability. Gino Baldi (Italy) secured second place, while Olav Resell (with Nicca Gade Christensen) finished third. Daniel Fraile Ortiz and Daniel Galar Irurre took fourth and fifth, respectively. Honorable mentions went to teams led by Gustav Düsing & Max Hacke and Nicola Ragazzini. A presentation event is scheduled for June 14, with the final results to be announced on July 12.
