Ben Rivers Receives 2016 EYE Art and Film Prize

The 2016 EYE Art and Film Prize has been awarded to artist and filmmaker Ben Rivers, who will receive £25,000 to aid in the development of new projects. This accolade was created through a collaboration between the Paddy and Joan Leigh Fermor Arts Fund and Amsterdam's EYE Film Museum, highlighting the relationship between modern art and film. The selection committee for this year included prominent individuals such as Sandra den Hamer, CEO of EYE; Stuart Comer, MoMA’s chief curator for media and performance art; artist Isaac Julien; art collector Martijn Sanders; trustee and producer Olivia Stewart; director and screenwriter Béla Tarr; and the late Chantal Akerman (1950–2015). This marks the second year of this annual award.
