Belmonte Calabro's Casa di BelMondo Becomes International Artist Hub

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

Since its inception in 2019, the transdisciplinary group La Rivoluzione delle Seppie has been enhancing Belmonte Calabro through the BelMondo initiative. In 2022, they received a 30,000 euro award from Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza and were chosen for Spaziale at the Biennale Architettura in 2023. Casa di BelMondo, revamped by Orizzontale, acts as a creative hub for artists. In 2024, they introduced CosMo, a digital platform for Cosenza's historic center, with backing from Agenda Urbana. Recent upgrades enable overnight accommodations. The BelMondo Reloading series showcased Nico Angiuli's projection honoring Calabrian women victims, while the W.O.M. collective developed "ASCOLTALA," a tactile sound archive, and a workshop by Esmee Maluta and Julia Leanie Rosner converted the second floor into guest rooms.
