Bellano's BAC 2026 Program Merges Art and Nature

The municipality of Bellano, led by mayor Antonio Rusconi, has launched BAC Bellano Arte Cultura, a year-long cultural program for 2026 titled 'Essere uno con il tutto,' curated by Chiara Gatti. The initiative aims to unite the town's natural, historical, and artistic heritage through four main exhibitions and a public program. Currently on view is Marco Cordero's 'Elegia per un ghiacciaio' at the Church of San Nicolao and Museo Giancarlo Vitali, addressing landscape fragility. Spring will feature a collective exhibition of ex-votos by artists including Piero Manzoni and Lucio Fontana, displayed in museums and rural churches. Summer and autumn will present Tonatiuh Ambrosetti's site-specific work on atmospheric phenomena, and winter will showcase Marc Didou's sculptures in dialogue with a Van Dyck self-portrait. The program also includes 'Il bello dell'Orrido,' a literary series curated by Armando Besio with authors Simone Pieranni, Valentina Tamborra, Marco Balzano, and Fabrizio Sinisi. Public initiatives comprise guided tours, art history courses for adults, children's workshops, a 'Summer brain-storming' for academy students, and 'DiMartedì' talks. A spin-off in Milan at Regione Lombardia's spaces will present BAC projects to a wider audience.
