Belgrade's Museum of Modern Art Reopens with International Exhibition 'Konverzacija'
The Museum of Modern Art (MSU) in Belgrade, Serbia, has kicked off a new project called 'Konverzacija' (Conversation), which is its first major international showcase in over a decade. This exhibition runs from October 20, 2001, to December 1, 2001. It's curated by the museum's director, Branislava Andjelkovic, along with Branislav Dimitrijevic and Dejan Sretenovic, both previously with the Center for Contemporary Art Belgrade (CSUB). Featuring around fifty artists, the focus is on video art and photographs made specifically for this event. The curators aim to push back against the previous regime's conservative approach to art. Funding primarily comes from Serbia's Ministry of Culture, with support from various NGOs, including Pro Helvetia and KulturKontakt.
