Belgrade Biennale Proposes Buying Artist Spaces Instead of Hosting Exhibition
The 60th October Salon/Belgrade Biennale, recognized as the oldest art biennial in the Balkans, is set to commence on October 20 and continue until December 1, 2024. Curated by Lorenzo Balbi and Dobrila Denegri, this year's theme is 'Trace/траг.' While the initial plan to acquire a permanent multidisciplinary production center for artists and the community did not materialize, it transformed into a significant awareness initiative with activities throughout Belgrade. The Belgrade Cultural Centre is organizing the event, featuring prominent artists such as Lucy & Jorge Orta, Alessandra Saviotti, and Tania Bruguera. Additionally, the program will showcase Francesco Fonassi's radio project at the historic Club Academia within the Belgrade Cultural Centre gallery.
