The Beirut Museum of Art (BeMa) is set to open its doors in 2023, covering 12,000 square meters right in the heart of Beirut, along the historic civil war boundary. This project, created by the New York architectural firm WORKac, co-founded by Lebanese Amale Andraos and Dan Wood, will feature 2,700 square meters for exhibitions, making up 30% of the museum's space. Visitors can enjoy terraces, a library, a theater, a café, a bookshop, and even a rooftop restaurant with stunning views. The design includes 70 balconies and vertical pathways, fostering a blend of indoor and outdoor experiences. Managed by APEAL, under Henrietta Nammour and Sandra Abou Nader, BeMa aims to promote modern Lebanese art and engage the community through various initiatives before its opening.
