Beirut Design Fair returns for second edition with 47 exhibitors

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The Beirut Design Fair will open its second edition on September 19, aiming to surpass last year's 17,000 visitors. The fair showcases international design from galleries and designers worldwide, alongside local Lebanese talent. This year features 47 exhibitors, down from last year, but presents projects from over 150 designers. The thematic focus is museography and scenography, with an installation designed by Lebanese architect Galal Mahmoud. The fair seeks to foster connections between design and local craftsmanship, promoting micro-economies for broader market reach and social impact. Founder Guillaume Taslé d'Héliand stated the fair was launched on the conviction that Beirut is emerging as a design platform in the Middle East, supported by local architects and decorators. Beirut acts as a bridge between East and West, conveying a distinct aesthetic rooted in history and tradition. The fair aims to become a creative hub through a curated selection by a Scientific Committee including Aline Asmar d'Amman, Lina Ghotmeh, Karim Chaya, Marc Baroud, and Mathias Ohrel, and the BDF Design Award.
