Beehiiv Launches Webinars, Metered Paywalls, and AI Podcast Analytics

On Thursday, Beehiiv, a newsletter platform based in L.A., unveiled a range of new tools for creators, which encompass webinars, AI-driven podcast analytics, metered paywalls, and paid trials. Established nearly five years ago, the company seeks to position itself as a comprehensive resource for creators, rivaling platforms like Patreon, Substack, Zoom, Kit, and Ghost. Creators can conduct live events for audiences of up to 10,000, utilizing features like video, screen sharing, and chat, while also accepting payments in various currencies. The metered paywalls let creators determine the number of free posts visible before prompting for a subscription, with adjustable reset intervals. Paid trials provide varied pricing and time options. Last month, Beehiiv introduced native podcast hosting, with 50% of current users transitioning their podcasts and 25% launching new ones. AI analytics, compatible with Claude and ChatGPT, offer audience insights. Future enhancements will include podcast video support in Q2 and advertisements later this year. Beehiiv reported record performance in Q1, boasting 400 million unique readers, 50,000 active users, 10 billion emails dispatched, and over $28 million in annual recurring revenue.
