Béchir Boussandel's 'Tenté par d'autres soleils' Travels from Tunis to Dubai
'Tenté par d'autres soleils,' a solo exhibition in two parts by Béchir Boussandel, is showcased at Tabari Artspace in Dubai. This exhibition, developed with B7L9 Art Centre in Tunis and backed by the Kamel Lazaar Foundation, will be on display from 3 June to 5 September 2025, following its initial presentation in Tunis. Boussandel, a Tunisian artist raised in France, explores migration, urban change, and survival through various mediums, including painting, blown glass, and metal. The Dubai exhibition features new blown glass works inspired by a Senegalese man collecting plastic bottles in Tunis's Bhar lazreg neighborhood. Aluminium and copper birds rest on the glass pieces, representing migratory birds limited by societal constraints. The title is inspired by philosopher Claire Marin: 'Like migratory birds, we are always tempted by other suns.'
