Beatriz Silva: From Portuguese Village to New York Stages
Beatriz Silva, from Fornos de Algodres, Portugal, is making waves in New York's theater scene. She started her journey with K Cena, a youth theater project at Teatro Viriato, working alongside director Graeme Pulleyn on a piece inspired by Gonçalo M. Tavares's work. Back home, she co-founded an amateur group called TAFA and performed in 'Entre Lendas e Mulheres' at the 2022 Algodres Medieval Fair. Silva toured the Upper Mondego area with ALTO and appeared on RTP1's 'Praça da Alegria'. After studying in London and New York, she received the Mart Hulswit Award in 2025.
