Beatriz Bellorín's 'De-Documenting' at Box 13 ArtSpace

Beatriz Bellorín, a Venezuelan-American artist, showcases her multimedia installation 'De-Documenting' at Box 13 ArtSpace's Back BOX Gallery in Houston from March 6 to April 11, 2026. This work critiques the U.S. immigration system, particularly the legal struggle to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for around 600,000 Venezuelans. Bellorín transforms hundreds of pages from the 2025 case National TPS Alliance v. Noem into abstract visuals, where language becomes visual and auditory chaos. The installation captures the emotional turmoil and complexities of immigration enforcement. A photo-video artist and documentary filmmaker, Bellorín examines themes of identity, memory, and displacement. Her recent exhibitions include FotoFest Houston and the 2024 Texas Biennial. The exhibition features a video tour by the artist as part of Glasstire's Five-Minute Tours series.
