Beatles' Final Concert Venue at 3 Savile Row to Open as Museum in 2025
Apple Corps has announced that 3 Savile Row in central London, the site of the Beatles' final rooftop concert in January 1969 and their former headquarters, will be converted into a museum dedicated to the band. Opening next year, the seven-floor space will feature unseen archival material, a recreation of the basement studio where Let It Be was recorded, access to the rooftop, and a gift shop. It is billed as the only Beatles destination licensed by the band, contrasting with two unofficial museums in Liverpool. The building served as the band's headquarters from 1968 to 1972, a tumultuous period following manager Brian Epstein's death in 1967. The final 40-minute concert was shut down by police due to noise complaints. Footage was restored for Peter Jackson's 2021 documentary Get Back. Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene expressed excitement about giving fans access to the iconic building, noting that the railings on the rooftop remain unchanged. Paul McCartney reflected positively on the plans, recalling special memories within the walls. The announcement follows a Christie's sale of Beatles memorabilia from Jim Irsay's collection, which netted $94.5 million, including John Lennon's piano for $3.2 million and McCartney's handwritten lyrics for "Hey Jude" for over $1 million.
