BBC Two's New Art-Dealing Competition Features Artsy Auction

On Thursday, August 13th, BBC Two will launch a new six-part competition series called 'The Big Deal with Steph McGovern,' focusing on art dealing. Fourteen contestants, many of whom lack experience in the art market, will compete to profit from contemporary art sales. Hosted by Steph McGovern, the show is scheduled for 8 pm on BBC Two and available for streaming on iPlayer, with an earlier airing on BBC Northern Ireland on August 12. The fourth episode highlights Artsy, featuring contestants who acquire pieces from two emerging Berlin artists—Argentine painter Celeste Najt and the duo 44flavours—before selling them at an Artsy Auction, judged by Ani Petrov, Artsy’s vice president of marketing. This auction is one of six real-world sales challenges presented throughout the series, which also includes auctioning work by Royal College of Art graduates and furnishing luxury homes.
